A new artificial intelligence tool called Tumor Site Risk has received clearance from the Food and Drug Administration. The technology is designed to help women diagnosed with breast cancer better understand the likelihood of their disease returning. The clearance comes as nearly 400,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in the United States. The technology functions by analyzing a patient’s existing breast MRI scan. Using this data, the tool calculates an estimated risk of cancer returning five or 10 years after diagnosis.Click here to download our free news, weather and smart TV apps.
