A 6-year-old boy died Wednesday after a video monitor fell on him at a Brevard County elementary school, according to the school district. The boy was attending Riviera Elementary School in Palm Bay. According to Brevard Public Schools officials, the boy suffered serious injuries after a “large video display board” fell. Emergency crews were called to the school just after 11:30 a.m.The boy was taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center but he did not survive.“We are devastated by this unimaginable loss,” a spokesperson from the school district said in a statement. “Our deepest condolences are with the student’s family, loved ones, classmates and everyone in our school community who is grieving.”The district says additional support and counseling services are being made available. The school district did not say how the video display board fell and hurt the child. This is a developing story. Check back with News 6 for updates.
