Brevard County Sheriff’s Office investigating accidental death of 3-year-old at hotel — Clermont Health news

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a young boy at an extended-stay hotel in Satellite Beach. Crews responded around 8 p.m. Thursday to America’s Best Value Inn on Highway A1A, just south of Pineda Causeway, to a report of a child not breathing. According to deputies, the child was playing in the room while the mother was outside on the balcony. Upon entering the room to check on the child, the mother found him unresponsive and immediately called for help. Brevard County Fire Rescue crews rendered aid before the child was transported to a hospital. Despite life-saving efforts, he was later pronounced deceased, deputies said. Based on the initial investigative findings and preliminary results of the autopsy, the death appears to be accidental in nature.Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to contact Agent Sam Grimes, of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit at (321) 633-8413.
