A well-known developer is continuing a push to remove dozens of acres from Seminole County’s rural boundary for construction of a 136-home community.Former state representative Chris Dorworth is asking the Planning and Zoning Commission to remove around 67 acres — including the former Pappy’s Strawberry Patch property — from the rural area at a Wednesday meeting.David Bear, president of Save Rural Seminole, plans to attend the meeting and speak against the proposal.“This is one more step in a fight that we’ve been fighting for a really, really long time,” Bear said. “This property being removed from the rural boundary has a number of problems for the community.”Voters overwhelmingly approved the rural boundary in 2004. It includes 74,413 acres in the east and northeast sections of Seminole County.Voters reaffirmed that choice in 2024, when 82% approved a referendum requiring four out of five commissioners to approve the removal of any property from the rural area.Conservationists have
