A 22-year-old Auburndale man escaped injury after his pickup truck crashed into a roadway safety device while he was applying stick deodorant Monday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.The man was driving a GMC Sierra westbound around 7 a.m. on Monday on SR-570 near the 14-milepost when the crash happened.According to FHP, the driver was traveling through a curve while simultaneously applying a stick deodorant.The truck collided with a crash attenuator before coming to rest on top of a concrete barrier wall.No injuries were reported.FHP is investigating the crash and is reminding distracted driving can lead to a rise in car crashes.Click here to download our free news, weather and smart TV apps.
