A Central Florida woman has been arrested after she found a lost dog and tried to hold it ransom until the owner paid her handsomely, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. In a release, deputies said they initially responded after receiving a report about the theft of a family pet.Per investigators, the victim’s dog — named “Teddy” — walked away, though the victim soon came across a Facebook post that the dog had been found. The victim reached out to the user — identified as Christina Spence Reid — who sent the victim a phot of herself with Teddy and demanded the victims pay her $1,000 to get him back, deputies explained.“Deputies located Spence Reid at her home with Teddy still in her possession, and she admitted that she planned to keep him unless the victims paid,” the release reads.Spence Reid was ultimately arrested on Saturday night and now faces a charge of grand theft. She was released on Sunday on bond of $2,500.
