Oviedo shooting leaves woman injured, boyfriend arrested

A man is in custody after shooting his girlfriend during a domestic dispute, according to Oviedo police.Officers responded to the area of Laurel Oaks Court Tuesday night after reports of a shooting with injuries.According to police, a man and woman — who are in a relationship — got into an argument that turned violent. The suspect shot the woman in the back of the head as she walked away from him. The victim was taken to the hospital as a trauma alert. She was able to speak with officers at the scene and is expected to survive.Edwin Candelario was taken into custody at the scene without incident. He faces charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, battery (domestic violence), firing a weapon on residential property, and trespassing.This is a developing story.
